Several phones stopped working at the same time

Overview

If one phone stops working, the problem is usually that phone. If several stop at once, the cause is more likely something they share: your internet connection, your office network, a cordless base, or the phone service itself.

What you can try

1. Check your internet. Can computers in the office open websites? Are other devices online?
2. If the internet is down, restart your internet modem and router, or contact your internet provider. Your phones should come back once the internet does. See Will my phones work if the internet goes down?
3. If only cordless phones are down, restart the cordless base. See None of our cordless phones are working.
4. If the internet works but phones don't, restart one of the affected phones to see if it comes back. See Restart your desk phone.

If it still doesn't work

Contact PMX right away. Tell us:

• Your location or office
• How many phones are affected
• Whether you can make calls, receive calls, or neither
• When it started
• Whether your internet is working
