Can my phone ring only during business hours?

Yes. PMX can set a schedule for your extension or your main number, so your desk phone and apps only ring when you're working. For example, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Outside those hours, calls can:

  • Go to your voicemail
  • Ring another employee
  • Go to an answering service
  • Follow your organization's after-hours menu

This is handy if you use a PMX app on your personal cell and don't want work calls at home.

How to set it up

Contact PMX and tell us:

  • Which extension or number the schedule is for
  • The days and hours calls should ring
  • Where calls should go outside those hours
  • Any holidays you close for

We'll set it up for you. Depending on how your service is configured, you may also be able to change your own answering rules in the phone portal.
