Forward calls to your cell¶
Your extension may have custom rules
If forwarding doesn't work the way you expect, contact PMX before changing anything else. PMX may have set up answering rules or a schedule for your extension.
From your desk phone¶

From the phone portal¶
- Log in to the phone portal.
- Open the Answering Rules tab.
- Set Ring for to at least 35 seconds (7 rings). If it's shorter, your cell phone may not have time to answer.
- Click the pencil icon on your active rule.
- Check the forwarding option you want:
- Always: every call goes to the number
- When Busy: only when you're already on a call
- When Unanswered: after your desk phone rings for the Ring for time
- When Offline: only if your desk phone is unplugged or has no internet
- Enter the phone number and click Save.
Which caller ID shows on my cell?
Enter the number as 10 digits (no leading 1) to show your business number when the call reaches your cell. Enter it as 11 digits (with a leading 1) to show the original caller's number.
